These are the stories we tell.
We know the beginnings so well,
but the endings don't justify means,
so we nail a cross to every scene.
We point to our wounds just like they were our friends,
and the movies run like headlines, in the lies I defend.
I don't want to carry my grave to my bed,
so it is time to bury the dead
This is the picture I see;
the hero I'm trying to be
I clutch at him hoping to save,
but he slips through my grasp to his grave.
This is the death of the start.
This is the starting of me.
